First Tee Scholarships

The need and merit-based program provides scholarships up to $5,000 per year, renewable for up to four years of college admission. The program also provides professional development workshops, access to internships and full-time employment placement post-graduation. Much of this money is collected each year through the VSGA-VIP Card program which was originally designed to provide value and access for golfers, generate play at participating VSGA member clubs, and produce revenue for scholarships.
Currently 6 named awards are presented each year, along with other additional merit scholarships (adding up to over 33) each year to Virginia high school seniors.

Hulede Collegiate Golf Scholarship
Golf is often thought of as a white-dominated sport, with many minority players not breaking into the field due to a lack of access rather than a lack of skill.
The opportunity to build connections and network through golf can lead to many opportunities down the road, including athletic opportunities as well as career advancements. This scholarship seeks to support student-athletes who excel in golf, community involvement, and extracurricular participation.
Please note that most applications do not come out until January/February of the senior’s graduating year.
